Contravision perforated window film is a special self-adhesive vinyl for window graphics. Its one-way vision means that you can see out of the window but people can’t see in.
Many businesses choose contravision for their shop fronts as it gives them privacy whilst still allowing them to see who is standing outside – captivated by their wonderful window display.
Contravision is a popular advertising choice for glass surfaces that can be used as attention-grabbing promotional tools. Such as shopfronts, commercial vehicles and public transport vehicles.
The origin of Contra Vision Ltd
In 1982, Roland Hill, an avid squash player, founded one-way vision technology (later patented as Contra Vision Ltd) with the goal of making squash more accessible to a wider audience.
Traditional squash courts were enclosed by opaque walls, making it difficult for spectators to watch the game.
Roland’s breakthrough idea was to create a new one-way vision technology, allowing full colours and graphics to be seen from one side of the glass while maintaining clear visibility from the other side.
This led to the creation of the Safe Screen squash court, the first of its kind with one-way vision walls on all sides.
Spectators could now watch squash games from any angle, while the player’s views were obstructed by Contravision technology.
Contravision one-way window graphics
Contravision is still a world leader in one-way vision and see-through window graphics.
One-way window vision is achieved through the use of micro-perforations in the window film material. These micro-perforations are evenly spaced tiny holes on the surface of the film. When viewed from the outside, the graphic printed on the film appears complete and vibrant.
On the other hand, when viewed from the inside, people can see through the film because their eyes can perceive the larger open spaces between the perforations.
The benefits of Contravision window displays
High-quality Contravision films are designed to be weather-resistant and durable, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor advertising.
Some key features and benefits of Contravision one-way window graphics include:
Enhanced privacy
Contravision offers privacy for those inside the building or vehicle while still allowing occupants to have a view of the outside. This makes it popular for office spaces, conference rooms, and commercial vehicles.
UV protection and reduced glare
Contravision films can also act as a shield against harmful UV rays and reduce glare from sunlight, contributing to a more comfortable indoor environment.
Creative advertising and branding opportunities
Contravision technology allows for intricate and visually appealing designs that can capture the attention of passersby. The perforations themselves can be used creatively within the design.
Energy efficiency
By reducing the amount of direct sunlight entering a building, Contravision can help regulate indoor temperatures and potentially reduce energy consumption for cooling.
Eye-catching campaigns
Many huge brands have used one-way window graphics to get their show on the road. Such as 007, Cirque Du Soleil, Les Miserables, Lego Movie and The Spice Girls.
Window graphics are perfect for out-of-home advertising campaigns as they’re a cost-effective way to cover large glass areas where you know there’s going to be heavy footfall or high visibility.
Bus wraps, ticket booths, bus shelters, phone booths, station platforms and bridges are just a few of the limitless places to install contravision graphics outdoors.
